Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG Location: Earth Event Time: 2024-04-17T08:55Z ( DSCOVR: PLASMAG ) Quality of ICME Signature: -1 (unspecified) Note: This CME arrival was characterized by an amplification of magnetic field components with Btotal increasing from 5nT at 2024-04-17T08:55Z to 9nT at 09:09Z. A subsequent minor increase in solar wind speed was also observed from ~350 km/s at 14:00Z to 400 km/s at 14:10Z. This was accompanied by a slight increase in density as well, reaching 18 N(cm^-3) at 08:38Z. However, density data is speculative around this time as there are a few spurious data points. This arrival may be associated with CME: 2024-04-14T11:12Z, and may have partially overlapped with the arrival of CME: 2024-04-12T02:00Z (Activity ID: 2024-04-16T09:20:00-IPS-001).
